Today, Tpyou went ahead for the submission. After the rendering and burning of the DVD last night, Joyce was only able to sleep at 5.30am. Nevertheless, we met up at 10am to complete what was left undone. Ivy was the first to reach, followed by Joyce and myself. Before I reached school, Joyce showed Ivy the video that was rendered yesterday.

Ivy watched the video and accidentally minimised the window. The music was still playing but when she opened the window again, that portion of the ideation had already passed and everything seemed to be fine and perfect. We then happily printed the CD cover and the DVD print before submitting it to the General Office at 2pm. According to the name list, we were the first group in Wahidah's class to submit. After which, we went for lunch.

When Joyce and I came back from lunch and scouting for more DVD covers, we went back to the Mac Lab, where I opened the video to view. It was then when I realised that a small portion of the ideation scene which lasts for about 8 seconds went completely blank, leaving the audio behind. We replayed the same scene over and over, making sure that it was not the computer's lag. But alas, it was not. It appears that the particular scene went missing during the render. Before Joyce rendered the project from Final Cut Pro, that scene was still there. It only went missing after the render. By the time we had realised, it was already 4pm.

Ivy already left as we thought there was nothing left to do. Joyce and I panicked and quickly checked the Final Cut Pro working file. That particular footage is still there, but it doesn't show on the screen. It did not even show that it was corrupted or anything and so Joyce and all of us thought that it was completely fine. Running out of time, Joyce and I re-made that particular scene again and viewed the whole project to make sure that there's nothing wrong with the project. After that, we rendered the movie and watched it all again, to double-check that there really was nothing wrong. As the saying once bitten twice shy goes, we played the DVD on Joyce's Macbook to see if it is playable. After gaining confidence that there is nothing wrong with the movie, we then headed down to the General Office once again to replace the DVD.

By that time, it was already 5.20pm. It was already considered a late submission. Frankly, I was very upset when I first found out. Even if it was me inspecting the video, I never would have thought that there's a problem. It was nobody's fault. However, I still feel upset because we have put in a lot of effort into this project and I do not wish for our grade to slip. I can confidently say that we have put in our best, staying back in school till late, just to make sure that everything went smoothly. I admit that it was an overlook on our part. I sincerely hope this will not affect our grade as much. After all, we were well-prepared and submitted early.
