Today, Wahidah suggested some methods of research to us. I learnt that there're two categories of research: quantitative and qualitative. Personally, I've thought of preparing some survey questions and going to out to the streets to conduct this survey, for a few reasons:
1. It is more fair to receive feedback from both the younger and older generation to prevent bias. 2. Finding out qualitative information especially via vox pox would widen our perspective of the Third Age.
Personally, i feel that this assignment would be very much easier if we had feedback from a wider age range.Of course, there are other forms of research like books, internet, newspaper and such. However, I feel that going one-on-one would be more hands on and personal in this aspect. Given our narrow-mind and inexperience, it would really be great if we had more field experience rather than staying in front of the computer doing "boring" and "dry" research. Even though I am still slightly unsure about the whole project, I'm glad that I have great members to work with. I have a strong feeling that this will be fun. (:
